Global Cooling, Inc., Ohio
- Managing transfer of Stirling cycle refrigeration technology to Japanese clients.
- Creating prototype and production designs for a 40 watt portable Stirling cycle refrigerator with emphasis on Design for Manufacture.
Stirling Technology Inc, Ohio - Analyzing bearing configuration in a residential air to air heat exchanger, and implemented a change from dry lubricated bearings to ball bearings, increasing MTBF to acceptable levels.
Sunpower, Inc., Ohio - Designing a silicon micro-machined Stirling cryocooler driven by a coupled micro-machined Stirling engine for electronic cooling.
- Researching various aspects of micro-machining, corner compensation techniques, silicon etch rates, mask design for given finish geometry, silicon fusion bonding, high pressure oxidation, material properties of silicon and silicon dioxide.
- Developing design correlations for predicting high frequency dynamic behavior of square and bossed round diaphragms.
- Analyzing mechanical, dynamic and thermal behavior of MEMS based Stirling devices.
- Predicted fatigue failure rates for mechanical springs in cryogenic coolers. Performed statistical analyses to determine required number of fatigue test samples to ensure required level of confidence in the spring design.

Emanative Enterprises, Vermont - Co-wrote LASER, a Stirling Cycle software package used to design traditional and novel Stirling cycle machines.
Maine Maritime Academy - Creating data acquisition systems for tensile testers and other lab equipment.
Forensic Engineering - Forensic engineering investigations of a tractor-trailer roll over; sandblasting injury to a shipyard employee; injury to a shoe factory employee caused by a mechanical shoe press.
- Qualified as an expert witness in Federal District Court.
